Prior to his current roles, Dr. Somers was the Director of the Psychology Clinic at UBC and the President of the BC Psychological Association.

Kal’s continued service led him to focus on providing youth with constructive outlets through sports with the KidsPlay Foundation.
Under his leadership, KidsPlay has over 500 volunteers and over 70,000 youth participants have taken part in its programs since its inception.
